Oh So Sweet: British Bakery L’orchidee Seeks £200,000 on Crowdcube to Open More London Locations

L’ochidee, a London-based company that specializes French macarons, luxury cakes, and deserts, has recently launched a Crowdcube campaign to raise £200,000 as it prepares to open more locations throughout England’s capital.

The company shared that it specializes in modern bake goods that have individual designs and flavors. It currently has three profitable outlets and a new online store that delivers across London.

“We aim to become THE to-go place for French Macarons, luxury cakes and desserts – a national brand that is recognized by unique style and designs, with shops around London first, nationally in the future as well as internationally as we grow. We believe we are so much more than a bakery or patisserie; we are design, fashion and experience in the kitchen.”

Since its launch in 2010, the company ha opened three locations, which are Westfield Stratford (2011) Westfield London – Shepard’s Bush (2014) and Canary Wharf (2015). Earlier this spring, L’orchidee launched a growing range on Amazon and was approached by luxury outlet Bicester Village to open a new pop-up shop. It was also awarded one gold star from the Great Taste Awards 2011.

The company has also announced it’s upcoming fourth location:

“ We are delighted to announce the opening of our 4th store in Bicester Village in around 4 weeks, we will be sending you some pictures of the Kiosk shortly, this opportunity will be an interesting trial as small kiosks like the one we are building for Bicester costs around £20K and could be another cost-effective way for expanding our concept, for those that invest with us within this 26 days will get the chance to find out the performance on the new store in the coming months.”

Besides expansions, funds from the campaign will also be used for marketing and driving wholesales growth. The initiative is set to close at the beginning of August.
