Overfunding: BuilderStorm Surpasses £100,000 Funding Target on Crowdcube

Builderstorm, a UK based cloud-based software brand, recently launched an equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube. Originally seeking £100,000, the company has already secured the initial funding target from more than 80 investors.

builderstorm-2Builderstorm currently offers software for managing construction companies. The software has over 30 different features that are each accessible through mobile devices. The company reports that the software aims to give every member of a project the tools and resources they need to build along with meet deadlines and stay on budget. Customers who sign up for the BuilderStorm software have an annual subscription, with prices ranging from £2,850 to £20,100 per annum.

The company revealed:

The idea for the company started around 4 years ago when one of the co-founders became disillusioned with the practices at the time. Working with a programmer they produced the first concept which was quickly adopted on that project. From there the product evolved to include more and more features such as; Text SMS Service, Timesheets and Defect Reporting.”

Recently, Builderstorm has won the 2Pears Tech Pitch 4.5 Award for Tech Startups. The company is looking to attract 20 new clients and hire two new customer support team members in the next twelve months. Funds from the campaign will be used for marketing along with continuing to develop the brand and its team. During a recent update, David Lawrence, CEO of Builderstorm, shared his thoughts about the Crowdcube campaign’s success:

builderstorm-1“I always went into this with an open mind. The last four years have been a total roller coaster, full of challenges and tests. I know we have a great product, but sometimes it was lost on potential clients because we were just a small company. Today, that changes.”

He then noted:

“I can’t begin to describe what it means to me and the rest of the team. We have loads of plans to really make this a great company.  The fact that so many people can see our vision too, just goes to show we are doing it right. Our key values have always been transparency, good ethics and real desire to create a great product. I promise we are going to stick to those values.”

The initiative is set to close at the end of November.
