The London Crisp Company describes itself as “An amazing brand, with amazing crisps and popcorn, that showcase the most amazing city on Earth”, and it just raised 338 percent of its goal on Seedrs — £337,910 out of a goal of £100,016 (approximately $428K out of $127K). The company claimed a pre-money valuation of £3,500,016 (approximately $4.5M).
Investors contributed to four snack brands in total, including its crisps and popcorn products as well as future products. London Crisp Co. intends to expand into the U.S. and Australia in the near future – leveraging its irreverent brand. The company will also use the additional funding to launch a multimedia campaign to raise brand awareness and hire an additional sales person to join the team to work with Head of Sales Gary Mesiano.

London Crisp Co. also announced a contract with former soccer player and actor Vinnie Jones. (You might know Vinnie aka Bullet-Tooth Tony from Snatch.)
“We are delighted to announce we have signed a contract with ex-footballer and international movie star Vinnie Jones to become our ‘Global Brand Ambassador’. Our first step is to launch a special edition ‘Salt & Vinnie-gar’ flavour crisp.”
“Ours is a challenging industry and it is hard to gain a foothold in the crisp market. But we think we have enough of a USP [unique selling point] to carve out a niche in the business. We had noticed a lot of crisp companies are quite traditional in what they are doing, so we wanted to give our brand a bit of an edge with its packaging and having strong yet simple flavours, which is what we thought people were really looking for.”
