Less than six months after raising $319,193 for its Petcube Bites and Petcube Play on Kickstarter, pet camera company Petcube announced the launch of Petcube Bites, which will described as an all-in-one WiFi pet camera with built-in dispenser designed so users can stay connected to their pets 24/7.
As previously reported, Petcube Bites is designed to help pet parents care for their pets remotely, treat and reward them. Other features include clear 1080p HD video, 4x digital zoom, night vision, and automatic reorder support with Amazon Dash Replenishment. Petcube Bites is the third product from Petcube. In November 2016, the company commercially released Petcube Play on Petcube.com, along with retailers Amazon, Petco, Best Buy, and Bed Bath and Beyond.
Yaroslav Azhnyuk, CEO and Co-Founder of Petcube, stated:
“As pet parents, we’re always committed to designing products for pets with as much care as products for people. Since we began in 2012 and coined the category Connected Pet, we’ve seen huge growth in the space, providing validation of how technology can shape the way we interact with our pets.”
Petcube Bites will be presented at the 2017 CES. The company noted that Best Buy will be the first retailer to sell the product and consumers may now pre-order Petcube Bites at a special price of $229 exclusively through the retailer’s websites, BestBuy.com and BestBuy.ca. Petcube Bites will retail for $249 when it is released.
Petcube also announced it is expanding its cloud service. Planned for February, all new and existing Petcube camera owners will receive 4 hours of free video cloud storage on a daily basis accessible through the Petcube App. This is a new lite feature of the popular Petcube Care, a video cloud recording service that helps owners look after the safety of their pets and home. A Petcube Care subscription provides 24/7 video cloud storage with 10 or 30-day history. A 10 or 30-day subscription plan provides owners with a complete solution for on-the-go pet care, including recorded video clips, timeline history, and triggered sound and motion event recording of what’s happening in the home.
