London-based snack company, The London Crisp Co., has completed its equity crowdfunding round on Seedrs. Originally seeking £100,000, the company successfully secured £352,069.
As previously reported, The London Crisp Company describes itself as “An amazing brand, with amazing crisps and popcorn, that showcase the most amazing city on Earth.” The company’s story reads:
“Handcooked in the heart of the capital, our great-tasting crisps are made to be enjoyed in London’s brilliant boozers. Combining non-nonsense flavors with classic crunch, they’re the perfect companion to a pint. So look out for London’s local crisp in your favorite London local!”
The London Crisp Co. currently offers four snack brands under its name, which are the Crisp Co. brand, The London Popcorn Co., Awfully Posh, and an undisclosed new brand (name has yet to be shared). The snacks are currently available in the Fuller’s pub estate across London and the company is listed in a number of Tesco Stores for its 40g single serve bags. Recently, founder of The London Crisp Co., Tom Lock, shared what makes the company stand out from other brands in the food industry:
“Ours is a challenging industry and it is hard to gain a foothold in the crisp market. But we think we have enough of a USP [unique selling point] to carve out a niche in the business. We had noticed a lot of crisp companies are quite traditional in what they are doing, so we wanted to give our brand a bit of an edge with its packaging and having strong yet simple flavours, which is what we thought people were really looking for.”
Funds from the campaign will be used to grow The London Crisp Co. sales team in order to continue to expand the business.
