German Investment crowdfunding platform Aescuvest has recently listed an offer to invest in Rodos Biotarget GmbH. The company has reportedly developed a platform technology under the name TargoSphere, which allows the targeted transport of active substances with “nanotransporters”. These nanotransporters. Rodos Biotarget is emblematic of the type of offering listed on the health and medical targeted crowdfunding platform. Rodos Biotarget is seeking a minimum funding of €100,000. Investors will receive a percentage of sales during a 5 year term with the principle of the initial investment repaid at the end of the term. This is the second crowdfunding round for Rodos Biotarget. The first crowdfunding offer was listed on Seedmatch in 2016.
Rodos Biotarget is pursueing two objectives: first, private investors should be given the opportunity to invest in early stage health care companies. Secondly, the company wants to tap into cooperation partners, customers and private equity through the crowdfunding campaign. The additional of the medical entrepreneur Otto H. Gies as an investor has aided this goal. Otto H. Gies created the 3B Scientific group that operated in over one hundred countries. He recently sold it to a US private equity company. Gies believes in the Rodos Biotarget mission.
“The new nanomedicine developments of the Rodos Biotarget, in particular against diabetes and a number of liver diseases, is very convincing,” commented Dr. Marcus Furch, Managing Director of Rodos Biotarget. “We have been able to convince Mr. Gies, a highly experienced entrepreneur with a valuable international network of contacts.”
The financing round is also supported by the High-Tech Gründerfonds and the Hannoverian InvestImpuls funds.
