Quick Success: HouseMyDog Captures £180,000 Funding Target Less Than Two Days After Crowdcube Launch

Just 36 hours after launching its equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcubepet service platform, HouseMyDog, has successfully secured its initial £180,000 funding target from more than 100 investors. The HouseMyDog team stated that they are all dog lovers who dream of a simple, cage-free and stress-free solution for safely boarding their dogs in real homes at affordable rates when they are traveling. The platform reported:

Despite over £10 billion annually being spent on pet services in the US and UK alone, our research shows that over 85% of dog owners refuse to use paid boarding solutions and are actively seeking alternatives due to caged environments, high costs and lack of trust.”

To date, HouseMyDog has achieved the following:

  • Has more than 40,000 users in its community, which 1,000 plus joining weekly
  • Has made over 40,000 nights book and £400,000 in marketplace transactions
  • Sitters are now earning £1,000 per month, with top sitters earning £30,000
  • Now operates in Ireland, the UK, and Germany

The platform also reported:

HouseMyDog is an Enterprise Ireland HPSU client. The HPSU Fund allows Enterprise Ireland to offer equity investment to HPSU clients and HPSU is considering investing up to €250,000 into HouseMyDog for equity if this fundraising is successful.

Funds from the Crowdcube will be used for expansion to targeted EU markets, continue to grow its team in development, marketing, and customer experience, and launch new product features including additional services (daycare, walking, pet food and insurance) and development of iOS/Android app. It is set to close at the beginning of October.
