With 55 days remaining on its second Companisto campaign — the first raised € 7.5 million— the Weissenhaus Grand Village Resort & Spa By The Sea, a luxury resort situated directly by the Baltic Sea is aiming to raise €2 million. Just days into the campaign the posh resort has reaped over €1,311,900 from more than 520 investors. The largest investment to date was €15,000.
“Weissenhaus reached the 1 Mio mark in less than 48 hours – this can only lead to one conclusion: investors saw the potential. Not only the profit promising plans of the owner Jan Henric Buettner but also the very high level of safety on this invest were the main reasons people were attracted by this project so quickly,” indicated Tamo Zwinge, Founder and Managing Partner of Companisto via email. “The opportunity here is quite remarkable: Jan Henric Buettner is liable with a personal guarantee. We work together with Weissenhaus for many years because we see a sustainable concept in it.”

About 12 years ago, Buettner, an entrepreneur, internet executive and angel investor, purchased the 400 year old Baltic village in order to restore and revitalize the once posh resort that had fallen into disrepair. Weissenhaus, the historic manor house located directly by the Baltic Sea, synthesizes 400 years of history “with harmonious idyll and unrivaled exclusivity.” Weissenhaus Grand Village Resort & Spa By The Sea is among Germany’s most exclusive beach resorts and was named Der Feinschmecker’s Hotel Of The Year 2016.
“We obviously hit a nerve here. Investors who also supported us in 2015 asked for additional opportunities to become a part of this project. The results show this commitment. In my career I always wanted to walk off the beaten tracks and discover new ways of financing my business projects. Investments over the crowd are quite popular now, but when we started this, it was very unusual”, explained Jan Henric Buettner via email.
To recap, in this next phase, the Weissenhaus Resort will be transformed, as a result of the foundation of a new Weissenhaus Holding and the extension of the business areas under this new roof, into the Weissenhaus Group. In addition to the continued further development, the next phase will see the extension of the business model by two features that will both open up new revenue potential while at the same time synergetically paying into the existing activities. The “Sonneneck” project (development and sale of apartments on the Weissenhaus estate)and “Bootshaus Hafencity” (opening of a further Bootshaus restaurant in the Hafencity district of Hamburg). Financial data is available to registered Companistans here.
Weissenhaus is offering rewards for this campaign ranging from a “Greetings from Weissenhaus” gift box with products from the hotel’s farm shop for a 2,500€ to a 1 week (up to 6 nights) at Weissenhaus for 2 persons in a suite (overnight stay, lunch, dinner, spa treatments) for a 250K€ investment… warum nicht?
Since launching, 74,619 registered Companisto investors have made a combined €43,759105+ in investments, with 91 financed campaigns and 3 exits.
