Field&Flower, a UK-based company that delivers grass fed, free range meat boxes, has successfully secured its initial £750,000 funding target on Crowdcube and has surpassed £800,000 thanks to nearly 500 investors.
The company, which was founded in 2010, states it believes everyone should know exactly where their meat comes from and has delivered thousands of grass fed, free range meat boxes to households all over the UK. Field&Flower also note that each of the meat is completely traceable from field to fridge as the meat is sourced from trusted farmers who use the same traditional methods as its team does:
“Seven years after founding we employ 15 people, sell over 200 products, and have delivered to over 19,000 households. We’ve won several awards, including multiple Taste of the West Gold Awards, and have even made a delivery to Buckingham Palace. We’ve added new products to our selection, including line-caught fish, cheese and charcuterie. We’re excited about our growth and that of the UK online grocery market, which is expected to be worth £17 billion by 2019. We want to capitalise on this and bring our boxes to even more customers. Our goal is to deliver over 500,000 boxes by 2020 and become a major online retailer for meat and fish.”
While sharing details about what the funds from the Crowdcube campaign will be used for, The Field&Flower team stated:
“We believe this investment will allow us to execute our ambitious digital marketing plan and attract new customers. This will include investing in online search and social media, and enhancing our email, marketing and PR strategy. This will lower the cost of recruiting new customers and increase profitability. We will also use investment to develop our mobile app.”
The campaign is set to close mid-November.
