Mekong Business Initiative Teams Up With State Bank of Vietnam to Launch Fintech Challenge Vietnam

Australia-funded Mekong Business Initiative has teamed up with the State Bank of Vietnam to launch Fintech Vietnam Challenge, which is described as a global call to local and international companies to proposed fintech solutions which will benefit Vietnam. The program’s description reads:

The Fintech Challenge Vietnam inventivizes adoption of the latest financial technology and encourages more collaboration among banks and fintechs in order to promote financial inclusion in Vietnam. The solutions are in areas such as blockchain, open application programming interfaces, electronic know your customer, peer-to-peer lending and payments.”

Those selected for the Challenge will receive the following:

  • Mentorship: Access to customized programs of coaching with experienced financial experts
  • Networks: Access to members of the fintech community, including  financial regulators, fintechs, investors, and other potential partners who can provide advice on your fintech solution
  • Partnership: Access to potential partners and collaborates for solutions, in including banks and other fintechs, along with introductions to accelerators and fintech investors

Applications are now open and will be accepted until January 18th. The finalists will be selected on February 15th and the program begins on March 12th and will run until May 26th.
