LaundryHeap, a UK-based laundry and dry cleaning service with same day collection and delivery within 24 hours, is now seeking £850,000 through its equity crowdfunding campaign on Seedrs. The company, which described itself as the “Uber for Laundry,” stated in London and has already expanded to Manchester, Birmingham, Dublin, and Dubai. The LaundryHeap team stated:
“We are following the steps of companies like Uber and Deliveroo, bringing existing industries to the booming ‘on-demand economy’. Customers can book directly on our website or via our iOS and Android apps, with just one click. They have the option to track their driver on a map in real time, which makes the experience incomparable to traditional laundry and dry-cleaning services. We believe that this is a highly scalable model, as we are working with third party facilities for the cleaning and with self-employed drivers for the deliveries.”
To use the laundry service, customers simply book through the company’s website or mobile apps. The company’s scouts then pick up and deliver to customer’s doors within a 24 hour period.
“We pick up and deliver at convenient times for you – that includes late evenings and weekends, helping you to get the best out of our service.”
All funds from the Seedrs crowdfunding round will be used to continue LaundryHeap’s expansion. So far, the funding round has successfully raised more than £530,000 from over 80 investors. It is set to close later this winter.
