Emerald Metrics has announced an exclusive agreement with Tetracam for the distribution of spectral imagers targeing the emerging Cannabis market. The partnership with Tetracam is said to allow Emerald to continue to help evolve the Tetracam cameras and build in Cannabis-specific firmware from Emerald Metrics. Emerald Metrics said this will “vault” their company far into the lead for Cannabis Precision Agriculture.
Emerald’s CannaIntelligence platform provides Cannabis growers with sophisticated spectral tools to identify problems with their crops. Discovering issues before the naked eye can see them allows growers to address the problems before extensive crop damage occurs resulting in improved yield and product quality.
Chris Rushing, Co-Founder of Emerald, said Tthis partnership sets Emerald Metrics apart now an into the foreseeable future.
Emerald is currently in the midst of a Seed crowdfunding round on SeedInvest. The Side-by-Side offer is being pitched to both accredited and non-accredited investors alike. The offer is seeking $2 million in a “crowd-note” – a convertible note that will automatically convert into preferred equity following a determined event such as a qualified equity financing round. Emerald has raised $320,000 to date and the offer currently has a valuation of $6 million.
The Cannabis industry in the US, and most other countries, is a nascent sector of agriculture. Many estimates expect legalized Cannabis to grow dramatically in the coming years. Canada, for one, will legalize Cannabis for recreational use later in 2018. Usage ranges from medical to recreational but the trend is clear. Cannabis will eventually be big business.
Emerald is seeking funds to enable it to aggressively deploy and scale its flagship technology platform throughout the Cannabis market in North America.
