Update: Stem + Glory Set to Close Crowdcube Round With Nearly £600,000 in Funding

Stem + Glory, a UK-based restaurant chain, is set to close its equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube with nearly £600,000 in funding from more than 680 investors. The campaign was launched last month and quickly raised its initial £350,000.

As previously reported, Stem + Glory was opened in October 2016 and describes itself as a plant-based restaurant chain on a mission to disrupt the restaurant industry by serving plant-based food delicious enough to turn everyone vegan. The restaurant’s team revealed they are on a mission to change the way we view vegan food by offering healthy food, kinder to the environment, with no compromise on flavor.

“Stem + Glory offers the opportunity to invest in a proven and ethical project, right at the start of an emerging market set to grow rapidly over the next 10 years. Stem + Glory founder has spent 35 years immersed in the plant-based scene, and the team have a wealth of experience in the leisure and hospitality sectors, including brands such as The Ministry of Sound and CAMYOGA. We believe there’s huge potential for Stem + Glory within the restaurant sector for accessible, high-quality vegan dining alongside fast-service lunch, brunch, vegan craft beers and fine wines.”

The funds from the Crowdcube round will be used for a new London location, as well as develop the brand ready for a wider national rollout. The company added:

“It’s been busy over the weekend and it seems highly likely we will cross our original stretch target of £600,000 really soon. This was our original stretch target. Due to the holiday (no-one is in the office at Crowdcube HQ!) we thought ahead and built some contingency into the stretch target ‘just in case’. Looks like our intuition was right! So we will let it roll a little past the £600,000 mark, but if you are thinking about investing, please don’t leave it too long – already this morning the take-up has been swift.”

The campaign is currently set to close Tuesday evening.
