Redemption Bar, a London-based healthy hospitality brand, has successfully secured its initial £300,000 funding target during the final days on equity crowdfunding platform Crowdcube. The company, which launched the funding round earlier this month, sought to raise the funds as it prepares for the opening of its two new locations in Covent Garden and Southbank Place.
As previously reported, Redemption Bar was established by former Brand Director of Virgin, Catherine Salway and New Zealand Restaurateur and Raw Vegan Chef, Andrea Waters. The restaurant chain is on a mission to provide diners an opportunity to ‘spoil yourself without spoiling yourself.’ Redemption Bar launched its first site in Notting Hill in August 2015. After great success, Salway and Waters opened a second site in Shoreditch in January 2016. Speaking about the restaurant’s growth and development, Salway stated:
“We are on the cusp of a really exciting growth plan – as well as launching two new sites in central London we are very optimistic about ethical franchising across the globe. The brilliant thing about crowdfunding is that the customers who’ve made us successful can get involved in this next stage.”
Menu highlights include dishes such as sweet corn and red pepper pancakes; probiotic booster bowl and pulled barbecued jackfruit and superslaw. In addition, they also offer an extensive list of smoothies and non-alcoholic cocktails, such as the pious pina colada and the activated charcoal martini.
Along with opening the two new locations, Redemption Bar added it a future goal of global expansion through franchising. The funds from the Crowdcube campaign will also be used for expansion. The funding round is scheduled to close this upcoming weekend.
