UK’s Investment Association to Offer Free Co-Working Spaces to Ten Fintech Firms At New Fintech Hub

UK’s Investment Association will be providing free co-working spaces to ten Fintech firms at a newly-developed Fintech Hub, which is scheduled to launch in Birmingham in 2020.

The new facility has been built by Velocity, the Investment Association’s (IA) Fintech hub and project accelerator, and IA member, Wesleyan, an insurance and financial services firm.

The IA is inviting UK-based Fintech companies to join the Hub, which will provide more than thirty workstations, an auditorium, and meeting rooms. The Hub’s management will provide free co-working spaces for a year to ten of the most innovative Fintech firms.

The firms will be chosen by a selection panel of industry professionals, which will be led by Graham Kellen, chair of the Velocity Advisory Panel and chief digital officer at Schroders.

Chris Cummings, CEO of the Investment Association, noted:

“The investment management industry is looking for cutting-edge fintech firms, who will help drive innovation and ensure that the UK remains world-leading.”

Cummings added:

“Velocity Birmingham is set to provide a critical hub for fintechs operating in and around the West Midlands and builds on the success of Velocity London, which launched a year ago this month. Successful firms will be able to benefit from the brand new co-working space, industry expertise and an insightful range of events, giving them the opportunity to develop and showcase their exciting technology.”
