Online Farmland Investment Platform AcreTrader Secures $5 Million Through Latest Seed Round Led By RZC Investments

AcreTrader, a U.S.-based online investment platform for farmland, announced on Friday it secured $5 million through its latest seed funding round, which was led by RZC Investments. Founded in 2018, AcreTrader stated it was created with a mission to provide direct access to farmland asset class:

“Through a proprietary online investment platform that uses some aspects of crowdfunding, AcreTrader offers transparency, security, and liquidity to people wanting to invest in farmland. Additionally, AcreTrader removes the headaches traditionally associated with land ownership by handling all aspects of administration and property management, from insurance and accounting to working with local farmers and improving soil sustainability. Now investors can access this highly attractive asset class and earn passive income, starting with as little as $1,000.”

The company reported that the funds from the seed round will go towards expanding investment offerings, improving investor education about farmland, and continue scaling operations to support surging demand on the platform  Founder and CEO of AcreTrader, Carter Malloy, then added:

“Large funds and private equity groups have been rapidly moving into farmland in recent years, but it hasn’t been easily accessible to most investors. With this round of funding, we anticipate allowing even more people to invest [on our platform].”
