Social commerce platform WOM Protocol today launched YAAAS, an NFT marketplace connecting social influencers and music artists with each other and their communities, through the sale of experiences, collaborations, and in-person greetings.
Today’s phased rollout will allow the community to test features and provide feedback, WOM said. The feature is the ability for influencers to trade TikTok Duet collaborations, a move the company believes will expand influencer reach and improve content quality. Fans can also access relationship-building and engagement opportunities through the sale of meeting opportunities and both in-person and online events.
Similar to eBay, content creators can set up both an auction and “buy now” price. Buyers can set up an account and provide a payment method. The auction winner and seller can make final arrangements through a direct chat feature, while purchasers may resell their acquisitions if they see profit potential.
Creators can be rewarded for recommendations with WOM, WOM Protocol’s in-house token. Those recommendations are authenticated through WOM, which allows authenticators to earn WOM as well.
“Social influencers are a powerful force with such incredible reach into consumer markets — we have a real opportunity here to create simple, user-friendly ways to monetize, while simultaneously driving mass NFT and cryptocurrency adoption,” WOM Protocol CEO Melanie Mohr said. “When people think of NFTs they immediately associate them with digital products and artworks, but there are so many more varied use cases, especially in the social networking space. Instead of social posts broadcast to millions of fans, think of one-on-one phone and video-based interactions, real-life meet and greets, content collaboration and coaching opportunities, and much, much more.”
