UK-based TrueLayer, which is one of Europe’s leading Open Banking platforms, reveals that Clement Boulais has now joined the company as GM for France.
Clement Boulais is an experienced commercial manager and Fintech expert. He’ll be working out of the firm’s Paris offices and will be tasked with defining and managing commercial strategy in France, alongside TrueLayer’s CRO Max Emilson.
This latest announcement has come as TrueLayer consolidates its position as the “leading” Open Banking platform across Europe, “routing more than half of all traffic in the UK, Ireland and Spain.”
TrueLayer provides more than 90% coverage of French banks provided via PSD2-compliant APIs and has been active in France via its collaboration with innovators like Fintech Unicorn Revolut.
“Open banking can solve many of the customer pain points in ecommerce, B2B, wealth and fintech. The growth of instant, bank to bank payments and the next phase of their evolution becoming embedded across multiple industries makes this an incredibly exciting time to join a market leader in TrueLayer.”
“We can use our experience and expertise to deliver meaningful financial products to customers and support innovative services that will benefit French consumers and businesses.”
Clement has been an advocate for Fintech and Open Banking for many years, having served as the Head of Startup Engagement at La French Tech, the French Economy Ministry’s organization for promoting startups in the European nation.
He also served as a mentor at Techstars in Paris where he “advised firms on fundraising and proposition development,” the announcement noted while adding that he joins TrueLayer from GoJob, an online recruitment platform focused on supporting temp work, where he was VP of Sales.
Max Emilson, CRO at TrueLayer, remarked:
“TrueLayer is accelerating its European expansion, working with clients to replace costly, poorly converting card payments with instant, secure bank-to-bank payments that deliver a better customer experience. Clement will be playing a critical role for us in France, building on our work with clients such as Revolut. His experience, particularly within the French fintech and startup ecosystem, will be vital as we continue to grow in the country.”
As previously reported, TrueLayer is a global open banking platform. They aim to make it easier for innovators or entrepreneurs in every industry to develop and offer improved financial experiences to their clients.
TrueLayer says they want the financial system to “work for everyone” — so they are opening up access by “putting fintech at people’s fingertips.” Established in 2016, TrueLayer is backed by major investors such as Addition, Tencent, Temasek, Northzone, Anthemis Group, Mouro Capital and Connect Ventures, and “trusted” by millions of consumers and businesses.
