Salt Edge, a Financial API platform has partnered with Italian Fintech accelerator Supernovae Labs in order to support Italian financial institutions and third-party providers with aggregating banking data and carrying out payments enhanced by PSD2.
Through their collaboration, Salt Edge and Supernovae Labs are providing an Open Banking platform which will aim to offer improved connectivity to many different banks from over 50 nations throughout the world.
Salt Edge’s management noted that the partnership should assist financial institutions with taking advantage of Open Banking opportunities and offer their clients with a more customer-focused solution.

Salt Edge referenced a report released last year which determined that 57% of Italy’s consumers are mainly interested in saving time and around 45% in ease-of-use when it comes to accessing virtual banking services.

In September 2021, Italian Fintech firm Switcho selected Salt Edge in order to help users effectively manage their recurring expenses.
Also in September, Nexpay, an EU-licensed electronic money institution, partnered with Salt Edge, an open-banking SaaS provider. Nexpay is a Vilnius-based Fintech startup that provides banking infrastructure for the digital assets sector.
In August 2021, Žltý melón teamed up with Salt Edge in order to incorporate PSD2 compliant access to data to improve the loan application process.
