Global payments platform 2C2P this week announced a partnership with UnionPay International to offer the UnionPay 3-D Secure (3DS) payment authentication solution to its network of merchants in Southeast Asia and Hong Kong. The move should provide consumers with an easier and safer option for making online shopping payments, the companies said.
The first payment service provider in Southeast Asia to roll out UnionPay’s authentication technology, the company will launch UnionPay 3DS first in Thailand and subsequently in Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines and Singapore.
UnionPay said its payment authentication solution is compliant with EMV 3-D Secure, the latest security protocol designed to minimize payment fraud and make online debit and credit card transactions frictionless.
“We are committed to developing a full range of online payment services, and this partnership with UnionPay International demonstrates that commitment,” 2C2P CEO Piyachart Ratanaprasartporn said. “It also provides our merchants access to a wider range of customers and empowers the customers to easily and securely spend in stores across 2C2P’s extensive online payment network, which includes airlines, hotels, department stores and supermarkets.”

2C2P is a full-suite payments enterprise platform helping firms accept and make payments through one point of integration. Its network of online, mobile and offline channels includes more than 400,000 alternative payment locations.
