Mobile banking app N26 recently confirmed that they’re getting ready to close down all US accounts in January 2022.

As noted in a blog post by UK-based Fintech Monzo, this decision has “left many customers looking for a replacement that offers easy mobile banking, low fees, and better saving.” If you’re one of these clients, then you can sign up for Monzo right now.

You may choose to join their waitlist today or send them a message at help@monzo.com and they’ll “unlock you immediately.”

In their update, N26 had revealed that N26 accounts will be “closed on January 11, 2022, after which you won’t be able to use the app.” Monzo added that they know that switching accounts “can be a stressful ordeal, and we want you to know that we’re here to help.”

Monzo also noted that they want people to help them build the “bank account of the future.”

Monzo’s mission is to “make money work for everyone.” They are “onboarding new customers every week” and some of the key features they currently provide include the following:

  • View your spending at a glance with real-time available balance and a daily spend summary.
  • Instant spending notifications

Via the Monzo app, you may organize your money with Pots, sub-accounts that “help you save and segment your money.”

You can also round up purchases to “save your change into a Pot, and set up scheduled payments into and out of Pots for budgeting and expenses.” (Note: you can learn more about Pots here).

With the Monzo Fintech app, you may also “set budgets for things like groceries and going out” and “automatically categorize your transactions, making it easy to track your spending.” Additionally, the company offers “a beautiful hot coral” debit card.

Here How You can Open a Monzo Account:

You can get Monzo if “you are over the age of 18 and a full-time US resident.” That means “being a citizen, green card holder, or eligible resident alien with full-time residence in the USA,” the Fintech firm clarified.

You may sign up for our waitlist at monzo.com/usa. They are “still in the early days of bringing Monzo to the US; however, we unlock customers from our waitlist every week, so you should never have to wait long to open an account.”

After you’re unlocked, Monzo will “send you everything you need to know to open your account.” The Fintech company added that they will “send you an email once you are off the waitlist.” From there, you may “download the Monzo app and set up an account in less than 10 minutes.” They will then “send your beautiful hot coral card out, which will arrive in about a week.”

Here how you may move your payments to your Monzo US account:

After you’ve set up your Monzo account, you can start linking other accounts by clicking “Add money” and “Linked account” to “connect another account via Plaid for easy transfers.”

You can also “move your direct deposit: You can download our direct deposit form using this link or use your account and routing numbers under the “Manage” option on your feed to start receiving your paycheck in your Monzo account.”

In addition to these features, you may pay bills via your Monzo account and routing number “on the “Manage” tab to start paying bills with Monzo.”

You can also “start saving for a rainy day: set up your first Pot.” And you may “add your card to Apple or Google Pay: conveniently spend with your phone.” (Note: You should direct any questions on the closure of your N26 account to N26).
