Gemini Custodies Australia’s “Lowest Fee” Bitcoin, Ethereum, Filecoin Funds with Holon

The team at digital assets firm Gemini are pleased to further their partnership with  Australian fund manager Holon Global Investments, “serving as the custodian partner for their unlisted retail Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Filecoin (FIL) funds.”

The BTC, ETH, and FIL held by the funds “are stored and managed by Gemini Custody.” This latest partnership with Holon is “a testament to Gemini’s commitment to increasing accessibility to crypto across the globe.”

Holon’s unlisted funds “are under Gemini Fund Solutions, which offers unparalleled support from product ideation through launch.”

Holon uses Gemini’s crypto trade execution services and its regulated and insured custody service that “removes the need for investors to manage their own crypto wallets.” The funds are structured “as retail managed investment schemes, increasing accessibility for investors and advisers who seek exposure to crypto.”

As the “lowest fee” Bitcoin, Ethereum and Filecoin funds publicly offered in Australia, the funds will “offer access to some of the most well-known cryptocurrencies, with a 0.4% management fee and 0.4% capped fund expenses.” The funds “are long only, with no gearing and no trading.”

Gemini first announced their partnership with Holon in August 2021, “with Gemini serving as the custodian and execution partner for the Holon Wholesale Filecoin Fund.” Their partnership with Holon “reinforces Gemini’s global reach as we navigate the Australian market alongside one of the most innovative and forward-looking asset managers in the region.”

Through Gemini Custody and Gemini Fund Solutions, they offer crypto services and infrastructure “to a growing number of asset managers and financial institutions globally.” As a New York trust company and qualified custodian regulated by the New York State Department of Financial Services, “the safety and security of our clients’ assets is [their] top priority.”

In another update, it was noted that the firm is pleased to welcome Layla Amjadi as their new VP of Product.

Layla joins them from Meta f/k/a Facebook, “where she spent 9 years, including 7 at Instagram, where she was the Founder and Product Director of Instagram Shopping.”

Prior to Shopping, Layla founded and “led the Instagram Explore Tab and the Creator product strategy for Instagram’s founders.”

As their VP of Product, Layla will “build on her deep experience to foster a high-performing product culture that delivers simple, elegant, and secure products that thoroughly delight our customers.”

Layla said:

“Web3 promises a future in which we are all more creatively and financially empowered than ever before and I’m excited to do my part in realizing this future. Gemini, Cameron, and Tyler are Web3 pioneers and have fostered an incredible entrepreneurial spirit and culture of innovation at the company. I could not be more excited to be joining Gemini as the VP of Product and could not ask for a better home from which to help build and catalyze the future.”

Layla is “the latest addition to a team of highly-accomplished senior leaders who have recently joined Gemini, including Chief Technology Officer Pravjit Tiwana, who joined from Amazon Web Services and VP of Platform Nils Pommerian, who joined from Netflix.”

In another recent announcement, it was revealed that Gemini UK customers can use Plaid to “connect their bank accounts and buy crypto.”
