Gravity Payments CEO Resigns: “My presence has become a distraction”

Gravity Payments CEO has posted his resignation notice on Twitter. Dan Price, the founder of the company, said that Tammi Kroll, currently the company’s Chief Operating Officer, will be taking over to lead the firm.

In the Tweet, Price said that his number one priority was for his employees to work for the best company in the world “but my presence has become a distraction.

Price added:

“I also need to step aside from these duties to focus full time on fighting false accusations made gainst me.”

According to a report in the Seattle Times, Price is facing misdeamenor charges for assault. The allegations involve a 26 year old women who claims Price “attempted to force unwanted kisses on a woman.” Price has denied the claims.

Gravity Payments is a merchant payments processor that partn4ers with chartered banks to provide multiple services. The company reports more than 13,000 businesses as customers.

Price gained notoriety when he slashed his personal salary to raise all employee salaries to an average of $70,000.
