Global banking firm HSBC is having some issues with its online banking service as well as some credit cards, according to multiple reports and Tweets. The issues kicked up last week and appear to be ongoing today. As far as we know, the problems are isolated to the UK.

On Friday, HSBC UK noted the problem:
“We understand that some customers aren’t able to access banking services as usual at the moment. We’re investigating, and ask that you please try again in a bit. We’ll share an update as soon as possible.”
Later in the day, HSBC claimed the issue was resolved.
“Banking services are back up and running following an earlier service disruption. To those impacted, thanks very much for your patience and we’re really sorry for the inconvenience.”
As of this moment, DownDector is reporting that over 3800 complaints of an outage have been received starting around 8:28 PM GMT.
HSBC has not issued an in-depth statement identifying the problem.
