Last month, CI reported that Fierce had launched its financial “super app” that aims to offer high-yield returns for its users. The App is available on both iOS as well as Android. At the same time, it announced a $10 million Seed round backed by high-profile investors.
Founded by finance/Fintech veteran CEO Rob Cornish, previously the CIO of the New York Stock Exchange and the CTO of Gemini Trust Company, Fierce is now expanding its investor base by raising capital on Republic.
Fierce has listed a Crowd Safe with a valuation cap of $40 million. The Reg CF securities offering is aiming to raise up to $1.24 million, with participation starting at $100. As of today, the offering has raised $13,100 from 12 investors.
Cornish distributed a statement on the retail funding round explaining usually, smaller investors do not get to invest in a private securities offering and can only participate at a later stage.
“I saw this first-hand when I was at the New York Stock Exchange and even then the IPO price was only offered to institutions and wealthy individuals,” said Cornish. “With companies now waiting longer to go public, this further limits the opportunity for the everyday investor to participate in the growth cycle of a company.”
The Fierce App currently offers FDIC/SIPC-insured accounts and access to stocks as well as crypto. Fierce also offers a “no fee” debit card.
The company states that coming soon features like personal loans, mortgages, insurance, and more. The checking account currently boasts an interest rate of 4.25%.
The company predicts it will have annual revenue of $456 million in 2025 – so they have steep ambitions.
