House Financial Services Committee Schedules Two Hearings: One on Bank Failures, Another on Digital Assets

The House Financial Services Committee has announced two new hearings of note – both scheduled for Wednesday, May 10th.

First, the Committee will hold a hearing on the recent bank failures as bank carcasses continue to pile up. The Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Monetary Policy hearing is entitled: Federal Responses to Recent Bank Failures. The hearing has yet to announce the witnesses scheduled to testify, but this should be available early next week. The hearing will take place at 2 PM on Wednesday.

Second, there will be a joint hearing with House Financial Sevices and the Agriculture Subcommittee entitled: The Future of Digital Assets: Measuring the Regulatory Gaps in the Digital Asset Markets. The Agriculture Subcommittee has oversight on commodities, so this can include Bitcoin and perhaps some other digital assets, so a joint meeting has a lot of sense. This hearing will take place at 9:30 AM on Wednesday.

More information on both hearings to follow. Both hearings will be live-streamed on the Comitttee website.
