Gemini says it is pleased to unveil “an important update to our derivatives trading ecosystem: mobile app trading.”
In August, Gemini had unveiled the ability “to view your derivatives positions and cancel open orders directly from our mobile app.” Now, mobile users on “both iOS and Android can now place orders directly on the Gemini mobile app.”
Derivatives Trading On The Go
Since launching their derivatives offering in May, Gemini claims that they have worked tirelessly “to build a platform that serves the needs of their users while ensuring that all features they bring to market are built with security, compliance, and user experience as core pillars.”
These features will aim to empower their users in order “to remain informed and maintain control over their trading activities on the go, while enabling them to seize opportunities and make the most of market dynamics — all from the convenience of their mobile device.”
Whether you’re looking to capitalize on a market trend, hedge your existing positions, or simply explore new opportunities, the Gemini mobile app “will enable you to navigate the dynamic world of derivatives trading.”
Derivatives accounts are available via the ActiveTrader interface. To enable ActiveTrader, simply log in to your Gemini account on your desktop or mobile browser, click on “Account” in the top right corner, and select “ActiveTrader”.
Once you have ActiveTrader selected, you’re ready to “create a derivatives account.”

- Select “Introducing Perpetual Swaps”
- Select “Create a Derivatives Account”
In a single step:
- a) Name your Gemini Derivatives account
- b) Select the maximum leverage your account can take – this can be adjusted later
- c) Read and accept the derivatives-specific Terms and Conditions
- Transfer GUSD into your Gemini Derivatives account
- Start trading
Gemini invites users to download the Gemini mobile app and “experience the convenience of trading derivatives on the go.”
As noted in the update, the Gemini Foundation is “a derivatives platform that currently hosts three perpetual contracts available for trading – the BTC/GUSD perpetual contract, the ETH/GUSD perpetual contract, and the PEPE/GUSD perpetual contract. Gemini Foundation’s derivatives product is available in select jurisdictions globally.”
It is not available to customers “in the United States of America, United Kingdom, or the European Union.”
