Digital Banking: Nubank Continues to Expand Investment Product Offerings

Nubank (NYSE:NU), which claims to be one of the world’s largest digital financial services platforms, continues to expand its investment product offerings.

Gradually, over the next few weeks, the company’s customers in Brazil will “be able to access and trade Real Estate Credit Bonds (LCI) and Agricultural Credit Bonds (LCA) directly in the Nubank app.”

These fixed-income products in the app “add to other alternatives on the fixed-income shelf, such as CBDs, Tesouro Direto (treasury securities), and the Nu Reserva family funds (Imediata and Planejada).”

There are several options for LCIs and LCAs “with different terms and yields – in Nubank’s investment experience, interested investors are presented with at least three curated highlights.”

Guilherme Espallargas, General Manager of Nubank’s investment area, said:

“With a growing base of investors, we continue to diversify our investment product options to meet the needs of diverse profiles in the Nubank app. In the case of LCIs and LCAs, the main characteristic is the predictability of the yield and the exemption from income tax on earnings.”

To facilitate the choice among all the LCI and LCA titles offered, Nubank provides a transparent and intuitive investment experience. Customers can “filter their choices by maturity or yield.”

Investment portfolio in the Nu app

The expansion of investment possibilities in the Nubank app goes “beyond shelf products – investors can also manage their assets through Caixinhas (Money Boxes).”

This experience, that ties investments “to tangible goals in the medium or long term, has been constantly evolving to offer more asset options. Currently, customers can configure their Caixinhas with Nubank’s Deposit Receipt (RDB) at a yield of 100% of the CDI, the Planned RDB – with alternative yields above 100% of the CDI and different liquidity terms – as well as the Nu Reserva Imediata fund.”

The Nu app also provides investors “with the possibility to diversify their portfolio in variable income with stocks, BDRs, real estate funds, multi-market or equity funds, in addition to an ETFs area, which includes the recently launched Nu Renda Ibov Smart Dividendos (NDIV11) and Nu Ibov Smart Dividendos (NSDV11), under the management of Nu Asset Management.”

These are the first to replicate “the Ibovespa Smart Dividendos and are also accessible to any investor, without any mandatory ties to Nubank or the NuInvest brokerage.”

The constant evolution and expansion of “the portfolio accompanies the growth of Nubank’s investor base, which has increased by 100% in the last year (October 2022 to 2023).”

Today, the institution has “over 12.4 million investor customers according to the latest financial results released by the company for the third quarter of 2023.”
