Decentralized Open Frameworks: KOR Protocol Launches with IP Tools and Updated Standards

KOR Foundation announced it has launched KOR Protocol, a new protocol that reshapes how intellectual property is managed, protected, distributed and monetized across various sectors.

Built around the innovative KOR DNA framework, KOR Protocol reportedly “offers new opportunities for creators to leverage blockchain and AI to evolve their IP into diverse media formats, including music, video, gaming, and beyond, as well as providing tools for seamless collaboration between creators, developers and fans.”

Launch partners are said to “include Animoca Brands, Pixelynx, Beatport, Endlesss, Smile Club (A Black Mirror Experience), Revelator Labs, mau5trap, Volta, Plastikman, Mintangible, and Seven20.”

KOR Protocol aims to “give creators the ability to encode, track, and manage usage of their IP and digital rights with enhanced security and verifiability of content ownership. It is an open-source framework that is being developed by various partners that will be announced across this summer.”

KOR Protocol offers strong support “for user-generated content (UGC), AI Remixes, and interactive formats: its advanced tools empower creators and their communities to generate, remix, and create content, supporting dynamic user engagement and driving the transformation of traditional media formats.”

One of the first applications launched “on KOR Protocol is KORUS, a platform that enables users to easily create songs, remixes and music videos using musical content from established artists and labels. KORUS has over 250,000 registered users.”

By leveraging blockchain technology, KOR Protocol “introduces transparent and efficient IP licensing models that facilitate seamless transactions and royalty distributions, and that include integrations with tools like Revelator Labs and the Beatport suite of products, both of which are highlighted as key launch contributors.”

In terms of transmedia entertainment and new media applications, KOR Protocol is designed to catalyze “the evolution of IP into new formats, enhancing the way creators and audiences interact and build value together.”

The suite of tools offered by KOR Protocol “enables artists, labels, filmmakers, game developers, and visual artists to harness the full potential of transmedia creation, communities, UGC and AI.”

Inder Phull, the CEO of Pixelynx, which is a subsidiary of Animoca Brands and a launch partner of KOR Foundation, said:

“KOR Protocol demonstrates its capability to revolutionise various aspects of the entertainment and technology industries. The launch partners and collaborations underscore the versatile applications of the ecosystem, from enhancing musical creativity with AI to transforming story-based IP through fanlore and UGC, all made possible by the KOR Protocol in a seamless and transparent way.”

Anyone can support the KOR Protocol and help “contribute to its decentralised ecosystem.”

As noted in the update, KOR Foundation was “established with the mission of being steward of the KOR Protocol and revolutionizing the way digital content and intellectual property are created, managed and monetized. KOR Protocol is a decentralized open framework and growing suite of tools designed by KOR Protocol launch partners and contributors.”

By integrating advanced AI with robust blockchain technology, KOR Protocol reportedly supports “artists, musicians, filmmakers, and developers in protecting their creations and engaging directly with global audiences in innovative ways whilst protecting their creative works.”
