Gnosis, the architects of the fully EVM-compatible Layer-1 Gnosis Chain, this week announced the launch of Metri, an on-chain self-custodial wallet operating within the Gnosis ecosystem, allowing a wider set of users to access a realm of decentralized finance applications.
Built on the Gnosis Chain, the fully EVM-compatible L1 from Gnosis with more than 200,000 validators, Metri offers reliable self-custodial management of crypto assets.
“The unveiling of Metri signifies a pivotal moment in the Gnosis 3.0 roadmap, marking the transition from infrastructure development to user-centric, on-chain application,” Gnosis co-founder Friederike Ernst said. “As the gateway to this new era, Metri embodies our vision of democratizing the benefits of DeFi, serving as a comprehensive mobile-first solution on decentralized and open platforms.
“By leveraging account abstraction and cutting-edge cryptography, Metri is bridging the gap between the technical intricacies of blockchain and the pragmatic needs of ordinary users to provide a user experience compatible with Web2 expectations.”
“We are dedicated to providing a reliable and user-friendly experience, ensuring that every interaction with our platform is intuitive and efficient,” a spokesperson added. “(Our) infrastructure will continuously evolve to support cutting-edge Web3 features while upholding our values of security and self-custody at every step of their financial journey.”
Metri will prioritize community engagement, integrating Circles into its platform to fight financial inefficiencies and build a more democratic and fair economy. In addition, it will empower users to tap into the power of Gnosis Pay for payments, enhancing the Gnosis Pay experience through a streamlined mobile interface, with a phased approach aimed at continuously expanding functionality.
Metri’s onboarding and transaction authorization processes are streamlined through Passkey integration, leveraging WebAuthn, while Web3 Connectivity enables seamless interaction with decentralized protocols and exchanges.
Gnosis unveiled the launch at its annual flagship event, DappCon, a gathering of more than 900 builders and leaders in the Ethereum space at the heart of Berlin Blockchain Week.
Metri is currently accessible to selected user groups and is slated for wider availability throughout Q3 2024.
