Private Securities Marketplace EquityZen Adds Market Map, Score Feature

EquityZen, a trading platform for private securities, has added new features: Market Map and Market Score. The company said the new features would provide users with “a holistic view of potential investment opportunities for private companies on the secondary market.”

Atish Davda, CEO and co-founder of EquityZen, said the update advances their mission of building private markets for the public.

“Sophisticated institutional investors can afford a staff to track insights on private companies. By launching the Private Market Map and Market Score, EquityZen has taken a few more steps towards putting institutional-level insights at the fingertips of the widest possible audience of investors and shareholders. Providing qualified individuals and advisors with tools to learn about, explore, and evaluate trading in private companies is critical as more investors and advisors seek to grow the share of alternatives in investors’ portfolios.”

The Map is a visual presentation of 100 private firms and the Score incorporates liquidity, recent activity and other factors. The data is derived from the more than 41,000 transactions executed on the marketplace.

Private securities are frequently transactions between employees desiring liquidity from granted shares and investors seeking to access pre-IPO firms. Investors must be Accredited.
