SEC Announces New Members to the Investor Advisory Committee, Meeting on September 19th

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has announced new members on the Investor Advisory Committee (IAC).

While having no regulatory authority, the IAC advises the Commission on issues impacting investors.

Each member serves a term of 5 years. More members are expected to be announced in 2025

The new members include:

  • George Georgiev, Associate Professor of Law, Emory Law School
  • R. Craig Knocke, Principal, Turtle Creek Management
  • Amy C. McGarrity, Chief Investment Officer/Chief Operating Officer, Colorado Public Employees’ Retirement Association
  • Jennifer J. Schulp, Director of Financial Regulation Studies, Cato Institute’s Center for Monetary and Financial Alternatives
  • Andrea Seidt, Ohio Securities Commissioner
  • Alvin Velazquez, Associate Professor of Law, Indiana University Maurer School of Law

The IAC has scheduled a meeting for September 19th, commencing at 10AM. The meeting will be live-streamed and available to the public. As of today, the agenda has yet to be published.
