Swedish Open Banking Fintech Trustly to Expand DACH Region Operations

Trustly, the Swedish global market leader in open banking payments, is putting its expansion plans for the DACH region into action.

As part of this, the firm says it is building a German-speaking team, starting with strategic sales staff.

The goal is to boost the Fintech firm’s overall presence in the region and to “precisely” meet local needs and expectations of customers on the product side.

The company, that’s seen an influx of new merchants in the region, announced the start of this project today: Matthäus Jamroz will be responsible for customer acquisition and building up the DACH business as Co-Head DACH.

Victoria Maier, who has many years of experience in developing sales teams at Booking.com, Klarna and Amazon, among others, will also be joining the team.

She will lead the DACH team in tandem with Jamroz.

One of the main tasks will be to integrate Trustly’s tech into the most important industries in the DACH region, such as public institutions, telecommunications, energy, insurance and SaaS.

With Trustly Azura, the firm brings the “most intelligent” data engine, which is used by well-known brands around the world. Users can be recognized intuitively.

This offers a “personalized experience” for every device, every industry and every retailer.

As explained, unlike the competition, with Trustly Azura it is not necessary to download apps, register or install wallets.

Jussi Lindberg, Chief Revenue Officer of Trustly said that if a long-standing key player in open banking in Germany withdraws at the end of November, we are ready to take over.

Jussi added that their solution is the best in international comparison and interest is huge. By launching their German-speaking team of experts, they are sending a clear message.

Jussi also noted that the many years of experience they have gained through working with  customers lie Booking.com and Zalando also give them advantages.

Jussi pointed out that they have the “necessary tailwind” to get started in the DACH region.

Account-to-account payment systems are cost-effective, fast and secure – with Trustly’s user experience (UX) establishing new standards.

In addition, the acceptance of open banking solutions is higher than ever before, as shown by the increased demand: the volume of instant transfers processed by Trustly in Germany has grown by 140 percent in the past two years.
