Alternative Investments and Wealth Management Platform iCapital Launches Multi-Investment Workflow Tool

iCapital, the fintech platform driving the alternative investment marketplace for the wealth management industry, announced the launch of iCapital’s Multi-Investment Workflow tool.

Available to wealth managers on iCapital Marketplace, this tool reportedly streamlines the investing experience by allowing financial advisors to process “multiple alternative investments” in a single, unified workflow.

Steve Houston, Managing Director and Co-head of iCapital Solutions at iCapital, said that on the heels of their “first” iCapital Model Portfolio launch, they continue to evolve their tech stack so that financial advisors can unlock the true potential of alternative investments–”enhancing diversification, mitigating risk, and optimizing returns–for client portfolios.”

They also noted that this latest tool, Multi-Investment Workflow, aims to significantly transform the investment experience by enabling financial advisors to strategically invest in various alternative investments in one integrated process.

With efficiency being at its core, Multi-Investment Workflow is said to be a part of iCapital’s effort to simplify the “end-to-end” investment experience for advisors seeking to add alternative investments to client investment portfolios.

As explained in the update, the functionality, which reportedly reduces the complexity and multi-step process of investing in alternatives for the advisor and investor, includes “unified trade orders” across multiple investment products, intelligent automation, one-stop e-signature solutions, and consolidated client communications.

The announcement further explained that the tool may be effectively leveraged with iCapital Model Portfolios, when “processing multiple subscriptions” from a menu of funds on iCapital Marketplace, or when adding alternatives to clients’ portfolios.

iCapital Model Portfolios enable advisors to run an analysis via iCapital’s portfolio construction tool, Architect, in order to accurately evaluate the impact of incorporating “alternative investments alongside traditional portfolio holdings.”

The update also mentioned that they assist with asset allocation within alternative investments and identify “established products that fit those allocations.”

Developed using quantitative analysis by iCapital’s Research & Due diligence team, the Model Portfolios suite offers a “comprehensive” and “flexible” way for financial advisors to include these investments in their practice.

iCapital’s in-house Research & Due Diligence team of 25+ professionals provides institutional-quality investment and “operational due diligence across a range of funds.”

Using their analysis, the team designs and curates outcome-based models aimed at helping advisors achieve their clients’ investment “goals of growth, income, and portfolio diversification.”

This recent unveiling is part of iCapital’s commitment to innovation as the single source partner and the enterprise tech provider for alternative investments.

The latest update follows initiatives that include iCapital Marketplace, Architect, Model Portfolios, and DLT, along with the firm’s acquisition of Mirador and the announcement of $200B+ in global assets on platform.
