iCapital Launches Portfolio Construction Solutions to Simplify Alternative Investment Integration for Wealth Investors

iCapital, the global fintech platform driving the alternative investment marketplace for the wealth and asset management industries, announced a series of enhancements to its portfolio construction tool, iCapital Architect.

The toolkit arms financial advisors with education and analytics and also provides the iCapital Architect technology as a “customizable infrastructure for alternative asset managers” to reach and serve the private wealth investor audience.

Key features of the enhanced portfolio construction experience include:

  • A new white label capability for asset and wealth managers to offer Architect as an education product to their audiences. iCapital, together with Apollo, a high-growth, global alternative asset manager with $733 billion assets under management3, launched Apollo Allocation Pro, a customized version of iCapital Architect now accessible on Apollo.com.
  • Portfolio Allocator, a smart feature that can help advisors construct portfolios based on a client’s unique objectives and constraints.
  • A proposal tool to support more seamless sharing of portfolio proposals between advisors and their clients, which can improve client conversations and differentiate an advisor’s practice.

The complete integration with iCapital’s Multi-Investment Workflow tool, which “streamlines the alternatives investment experience by enabling numerous investments to be processed simultaneously.”

First launched in February 2024 for iCapital platform clients, Architect is the innovative portfolio construction tool that “helps advisors evaluate alternative investments and structured investments alongside traditional assets and design portfolios that align with clients’ return objectives and risk profiles.”

Apollo Allocation Pro, powered by iCapital Architect, enables users “to create and compare illustrative public and private index portfolio allocations interactively.”

The tool allows for evaluating “historical risk/return metrics and running allocations through a range of past market events.”

Apollo’s Stephanie Drescher, Partner and Chief Client and Product Development Officer said:

“Tools like Apollo Allocation Pro, powered by iCapital Architect, are critical to educating and empowering financial advisors as they seek greater diversification and excess return on behalf of their clients.”

They also shared:

“We are thrilled to be collaborating with iCapital on this innovative technology, which highlights our shared commitment to providing advisors with resources to integrate private market strategies into portfolios, enabling them to deliver tailored solutions that align with their clients’ financial goals.”

Lawrence Calcano, Chairman and CEO of iCapital said:

“Since launch, we’ve seen how powerful iCapital Architect is for advisors on our platform, regardless of where they are in the lifecycle of adopting alternative investments into client portfolios.”

They added:

“These enhancements, including the very exciting collaboration with Apollo, are the next natural step in our mission to continuously educate the wealth management community as it embraces alternative investments. We are dedicated to working with our asset and wealth manager clients in the ways that work best for them and to continue to innovate to meet their needs.”
