Digital Bank Revolut Establishes Paris Office for Western Europe Expansion Efforts

Digital bank Revolut, which claims to currently be serving more than 70 million customers across the globe- with over 7 million residing in France – announced it has entered a 10-year lease for its Western Europe head offices at the crossroads of the Bourse district, the so0called “historic heart” of French finance, as well as the Sentier neighborhood, one of the city’s technology and entrepreneurial hubs.

According to the update from Revolut, the office is expected to open in early 2027.

The Fintech firm said that it will plan to occupy 2,417 square metres (26,011 sq ft) of office space across 6 different floors.

Designed to host Revolut’s Western Europe and Paris-based teams, the site will now aim to support closer collaboration, responsible innovation, employee wellbeing, and the ongoing growth of the Fintech company’s presence in the European region.

The Paris headquarters will now aim to serve as a central hub for Revolut’s Western Europe business operations, supporting steady expansion across key markets such as France (7M+ customers), Spain (6M+ customers), Italy (4.5M+ customers), Germany (3M+ customers), Ireland (3M+ customers), and Portugal (2M+ customers).

The update further builds on Revolut’s investments in France and Western Europe, including its application for a banking license in the European nation, confirmation of 400+ professionals hires in the region, and plans for 1,500+ staff to work directly for the new banking institution in the foreseeable future, as part of a 1-billion euro investment strategy for the region.

Béatrice Cossa-Dumurgier, CEO Western Europe at Revolut, explained that this particular location reflects what Revolut stands for: at the crossroads of Paris’ financial center and the Sentier district, known as the “heart of the city’s tech ecosystem.”

Antoine Le Nel, Chief Growth and Marketing Officer at Revolut has also shared that with more than 25 million clients, Western Europe is the digital bank’s largest and fastest-evolving region – and provides potentially untapped opportunities.

While these business expansion efforts are commendable, it’s worthwhile to note that Revolut has faced several operational challenges, including reports of fraud being carried out (directly and indirectly) via its platform. Although many of these illicit activities were attributed to issues stemming from external / third-party apps like Facebook (other social media), it is still a cause for concern.

Revolut has also faced regulatory challenges, with the latest enforcement action announced by Italian regulators.
