Pakistan based Branchless Banking Fintech Eaisypaisa Launches API Developer Portal

Fintech Easypaisa has launched an API developer portal in order to enable seamless third-party integrations.

Pakistan’s branchless banking service provider, Easypaisa, has confirmed that its API Developer Portal is now live. It may now be used by third parties for integration, sandbox testing environments, and production movement for standard integration as well.

Eaisypaisa’s API gateway aims to offer a secure self-service registration process and easy-to-integrate platform for the following scenarios:

  • Businesses/partners enabling them to carry out money transfers, IBFT, easy bill payments, and various other Easypaisa-supported services via their apps and websites.
  • Businesses/partners are able to add Easypaisa as a payment method for their clients.
  • Developers are now able to use the APIs on their websites and as part of their applications.
  • The comprehensive solution comes with explainer guides, tutorials, and step-by-step instructions; and standard processes for self-service.

As reported by Pro Pakistani, developers are able to select any available API and then integrate it into their solutions without having to build a new interface from scratch. This helps save a lot of time,  money, and effort. It also helps with creating a more seamless user experience.

Before the launch of the API Developer Portal, third parties integrating with Easypaisa had to directly connect via their backend systems. This required having to integrate with multiple systems, based on their specific requirements. This made the whole process a lot more cumbersome.

Via an API Gateway, third parties simply have to integrate with the gateway which is already connected to a wide range of systems at Easypaisa’s backend. This is how an API gateway helps with simplifying the entire process into just one step.

The API Gateway works automatically, meaning there’s no human or manual involvement needed and the third parties are able to carry out their standard integrations seamlessly.

Third-parties are able to check or view the APIs per use-case, build those at their end and then use Easypaisa’s sandbox to test out their service before deploying them.

Last year, EasyPaisa had partnered with Fintech firm PayFast in order to accelerate virtual payments adoption in Pakistan.

EasyPaisa, a leading digital wallet provider, had also teamed up (last year) with the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry to support virtual payments.

EasyPaisa was also among the first Pakistani Fintechs that had committed to help government organizations with distributing funds following the COVID-19 outbreak.
