Uniswap Activates Aggregator Hooks, Transforming v4 Into a Cross-Protocol Liquidity Hub on Ethereum, Base, Robinhood Chain

Uniswap Labs has rolled out Aggregator Hooks for Uniswap v4, converting the protocol into an active liquidity aggregator that draws on sources beyond its own pools. These hooks encapsulate external liquidity venues and surface them as native Uniswap v4 pools.

The feature went live on October 22, 2026, in both the Uniswap Web App and the Uniswap API, covering Ethereum mainnet, Base, and Robinhood Chain.

Seven external sources are available at launch and together account for more than 90 percent of decentralized-exchange activity on the three networks.

Uniswap already holds the majority of on-chain liquidity and remains the largest decentralized exchange by volume, with more than $4.5 trillion swapped historically.

Nonetheless, liquidity continues to form on other platforms.

Aggregator Hooks address this fragmentation by bringing outside sources into the Uniswap framework. Once wrapped, those sources register as v4 pools.

Swaps routed through them incur protocol fees that contribute to UNI token burns, linking external activity directly to the protocol’s fee and burn mechanics.

The design relies on Uniswap v4’s hook system.

Each Aggregator Hook embeds an external liquidity source inside a hook contract so that any router treats it as a standard Uniswap pool.

On every block the router refreshes quotes from the connected venues.

When a user submits a swap, the router evaluates liquidity across native Uniswap pools and the external sources to assemble the most efficient route.

The full path settles atomically in a single transaction, and users do not need to grant any new token approvals.

On the Uniswap Web App, external liquidity is considered automatically during route discovery; no extra selection or configuration is required.

Developers building with the Uniswap API can now route through Aggregator Hooks on Ethereum mainnet, Base, and Robinhood Chain.

The result is broader liquidity access and potentially tighter pricing without added steps for traders or integrators.

By registering external venues as v4 pools, Uniswap captures protocol fees on activity that previously occurred outside its ecosystem while offering users a single interface for multi-venue execution.

The approach extends v4’s modular hook architecture—already used for custom pricing, permissioning, and other behaviors—into cross-protocol aggregation.

As trading activity spreads across multiple decentralized exchanges, the hooks help preserve efficient price discovery and reduce the friction of fragmented liquidity. Further technical documentation on Aggregator Hooks and other Uniswap Labs-developed hooks is available through the protocol’s developer resources.
