GunByGun Uses Crowdfunding To Fund Gun Buybacks

GunByGun.org founder Ian Johnstone lost his father at age 10 to gun violence. Since then he’s been an advocate for removing guns from the streets in any way possible.

Now he and co-founder Eric King Ph.D. have launched GunByGun.com in order to connect crowdfunding with community gun buyback programs. The team is currently using Indiegogo.com to crowdsource funding for this initiative.

The mission of gunbygun is to empower individuals to remove guns from their communities through crowdfunded gun buyback programs.

By enabling concerned citizens to finance buyback programs, we can tap into a pool of philanthropic funding large enough to make a substantial dent in our nation’s gun problem. In addition to providing the online platform for raising the funds, we will also manage the coordination with local law enforcement to operate the gun buyback programs safely and efficiently.gunbygun
