Despite Mighty No. 9’s release being three months ago, some backers of the Kickstarter success are continuing to wait for their physical rewards.
Mighty No. 9 first surfaced on the crowdfunding platform back in summer 2013 and secured over $3.8 million from 62,000 backers. The game was created by Keiji Inafune, who is known for his work on Mega Man. It takes place in the year 2099 where humans have become dependent on robots not just for manual labor but also entertainment. The most powerful robots in the world fight in front of humans in a popular league called the Battle Colosseum.
Although the creators have continued with updates, which include a random contest, backers have asked about the rewards without any answers. One Backer shared:
“Still no info on the physical copy for my PS4 that I have been waiting on. But please, keep having updates that have nothing to do with satisfying customers that you have already taken money from.”
Another then noted:
“The buyer’s remorse is real. Still waiting on any news of physical rewards. If you need me I’ll be not playing this game.”
The game has officially been released on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, and Linux. Unfortunately, besides physical reward delays, other issues have continued to happen. Following its initial release, the game was met with criticism after failing to meet expectations and issues some backers were experiencing. Those who were struggling to get the game to work flooded the Kickstarter page revealing that they hadn’t received the codes, or the codes weren’t working at all. The Mighty No. 9 team stated for some platforms there is a bit of time lag between the release of the game in store, and the time when the codes become effective. If it didn’t work right away, to try again later.
