There’s been a lot of news about ‘crowdfunding’ lately, even on BizNext, as recently as yesterday. So, for any entrepreneurs planning on crowdfunding their startup we’d like to offer a simple reminder: it’s still illegal.
That is, it’s illegal in the sense that you can’t exchange equity for investments the way would-be authors exchange promises of signed books and shout-outs in the acknowledgments for small donations on Kickstarter.
