Anfield Bakery To Reopen After Crowdfunding

Happy People at Anfield Bakery After Crowdfunding Success on KickstarterA family-run bakery in the shadow of Anfield football stadium that closed in 2010 will reopen, thanks to the work of a community group.

Mitchell’s was forced to close because of economic decline in the area. It had served the residents of Anfield for more than a century.

The group have raised enough money to get Mitchell’s open again. It will be known as Homebaked Community Bakery.

The co-operative needed to raise £13,000 to buy an oven. To do that they turned to Kickstarter, a social crowd-funding website.
