Crowdfunding in France 2014 (Infographic)

France Arc du Triomphe ParisCrowdfunding in France received a significant boost last year when the government released rules governing the new form of finance. While not perfect the regulations were greeted as a positive first step in establishing a new, more efficient market for capital formation.

France has not traditionally been known for a robust innovation sector but entrepreneurs in FinTech want to be the catalyst to change this energizing a new generation of startups and disruptive companies.

The crowdfunding industry has become quite robust and according to the Centre for Alternative Finance is the second largest market in Europe after the United Kingdom.

Financement Participatif France, an industry advocacy group, has created a “barometer” highlighting the crowdfunding industry in 2014.  Their data shows the industry grew at a rate of about 200% from 2013 to 2014.  They polled 46 platforms in France to generate these numbers.  2015 should be even better.
