With more than $450,000 raised by 6,000 contributors around the world to help those in Nepal following Saturday’s massive earthquake, Indiegogo has announced a new dedicated page for the cause’s campaigns.
As previously reported, at least 3,617 people are now known to have died in a massive earthquake which hit the country on Saturday. The National Emergency Operation Center has reported that more than 6,500 people have been injured. More than 200 climbers have been rescued around Mount Everest, which was struck by deadly avalanches in the 7.8-magnitude quake.
The global crowdfunding platform stated:
“With more than 140 campaigns now supporting relief efforts for the tragic earthquake in Nepal, Indiegogo has created a special landing page that highlights the top relief fundraisers in a single place so that contributors worldwide can easily chose how they want to donate.
“This landing page is under the umbrella of Indiegogo Life, where fundraisers do not pay an Indiegogo platform fee. Indiegogo Life is open to any individual or organization seeking to raise funds to help others. So far through Indiegogo, 6,600 contributors from 80 countries and territories have raised more than $460,000 to help the victims of the earthquake.”
