Hoping to get his latest projects off the ground, Yellowcard bandmate Ryan Key has launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter to raise $75,000 for his upcoming record studio,The Lone Tree Records, in Nashville and record his first Will & The Whiskeymen EP.
Sharing details about the projects, Key wrote:
“Together, we can bring The Lone Tree Recordings to life. As the lead singer and guitarist of Yellowcard, I practically grew up in a studio. I know how important it is for musicians to be able to write and record their music so they can share it with the world. So I’m reaching out to all music fans and musicians to help support this studio as a space for talented musicians to write and record the songs they love.
“The Lone Tree Recordings will be a studio space that welcomes creativity and expression through music and the craft of songwriting. With state-of-the-art equipment, this professional studio will help musicians write, record, and mix their songs, demos, and albums. The studio will have top-of-the-line gear including microphones, analog and digital recording equipment, instruments, and software to capture the highest-quality recordings imaginable.
“The Lone Tree Recordings will be built at my home away from home in the “Songwriting Capital of the World,” Nashville, Tennessee. My home has always been a welcoming place and this studio is an extension of that.”
Funds from the project will go towards the construction of the studio (the land has already been purchased) Noting why he decided to create The Lone Tree Recording label, Key added:
“For over a decade, I’ve been lucky enough to learn music production from the best in the business. Now it’s my turn to pay it forward and help other musicians who want to experience and enjoy the recording process as much as I do.”
