Success! Just a few days after announcing its new brewery and first urban pub, West Berkshire Brewery’s extended Seedrs campaign is now overfunding. The company launched the initiative earlier this spring and was looking to raise £1.5 million.

West Berkshire Brewery 3Founded in 1995, West Berkshire Brewery has produced a wide range of bottle, kegged and cask-conditioned beers and lagers that have won over 40 awards, including Champion Strong Beer of Britain. It currently has 19 employs and has continued to experience growth in sales.

“Our reputation is built on the quality of our product and the service that we offer to our customers. We also have a clear ethos concerning our impact on the environment and we strive to make our business as sustainable as possible; it’s more than just a brewing process, it’s the way we do business as well. With this in mind, the majority of our ingredients are sourced locally, supporting the local economy and caring for the environment. For example, our spent grains are taken by a local farmer as animal feed – recycling at its best!”

The company’s new brewery will be situated just a few hundred yards from the current site. It will feature state-of-the art equipment capable of creating a range of different beer styles. West Berkshire Brewery will then provide packaging facilities for other breweries with a shop, complete with bar and beer garden will be included, along with the provision of public brewery tours in the future.

West Berkshire Brewery 4West Berkshire Brewery also revealed that the 4,450 square foot Shillibeer’s will allow the brewery to showcase its traditional cask ales, alongside the new craft beers from its Renegade Brewery range. A new menu of quality food designed to pair with selected beers will be introduced at the venue, which is split across three levels and includes a kitchen and deli.

David Bruce, investor and chairman at West Berkshire Brewery, recently stated:

West Berkshire Brewery 1“This is a real turning point for us at West Berkshire Brewery. We are thrilled to have secured such a fantastic site in one of London’s most exciting areas. For the first time we can proudly serve our beers directly to customers. Our pub will be full of atmosphere and showcase a stunning range of beers and ciders from all over the world, including those we make ourselves. It will really put our brewery on the map.

“We’re just as excited to have signed an agreement for our new brewery. We have a fabulous brewing team who are full of ideas and our new equipment will enable them to let their creativity loose. It also means that we can significantly increase our production, allowing us to spread our wings further than our current distribution heartland; it’s truly an exciting time.”

Originally set to close at the end of May, the brewery decided to extend the campaign until June 14th.
