On Tuesday, Crowdcube success, The New Craftsmen, announced it has teamed up with famous fashion brand, Burberry, on Makers House, which is described as a temporary space in central London during London’s Fashion Week.

Back in spring 2014, The New Craftsmen successfully raised £171,580 from 70 investors through its equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube. The company launched in December 2012 in Mayfair, working to promote and sell craftsmanship from the British Isles, from a selection of Britain’s finest makers, working in textiles, silverware, furniture, ceramics, jewellery, glassware and beyond. It is led by an impressive team of executives including Mark Henderson, Chairman of Gieves & Hawkes – along with co-founders Natalie Melton & Catherine Lock.

During a recent interview with the Telegraph, chief creative and CEO of Burberry, Christopher Bailey, shared details about the company’s new line and The New Craftsmen collaboration:

“In this spirit of honouring contemporary artisanal excellence, we are also proud to announce an exciting collaboration with The New Craftsmen as part of our September presentation during London Fashion Week. Just as Virginia Woolf’s Orlando is both a love-letter to the past and a work of profound modernity, this week-long exhibition aims to nod both to the design heritage that is so integral to Burberry’s identity, and to some of Britain’s most exciting creators, and the innovation and inspiration behind their work.”

The New Craftsmen posted the big news on Twitter.

The Makers House will open to the public from September 21st to the 27th.
