Revolut Introduces Free Personal Euro Accounts Following $66 Million Raise

Just days after announcing it secured $66 million through its Series B funding round, digital challenger bank Revolut introduced free personal euro accounts. The company revealed this new feature enables all its customers, across 42 European countries, to open a free Euro account straight from their smartphone in as little as 60 seconds.

You get your own personal IBAN which you can use to get paid by anyone, anywhere, including a salary. When you send outbound transfers via Revolut, your name will appear as the sender on the beneficiaries bank statement.”

Revolut reported that existing users may activate their personal Euro account in a single tap. They can also share their Euro account details with anyone through the Revolut app. Meanwhile, the company is currently gearing up for a $5 million crowdfunding round on Seedrs scheduled to take place later this month (July). As previously reported, an earlier crowdfunding round raised £1 million and was hugely over-subscribed registering pledges of £17+ million from more than 10,000 potential investors. This most recent investment was led by Index Ventures with existing investors, Balderton Capital and Ribbit Capital, also participating.
