Overfunding: Plant-Based Restaurant Chain Stem + Glory Quickly Surpasses £350,000 Funding Target on Crowdcube

Stem + Glory, a UK-based restaurant chain, has quickly secured its initial 350,000 equity crowdfunding target on Crowdcube. The company launched the funding on Monday morning and by the afternoon surpassed the funding goal.

Opened in October 2016, Stem + Glory describes itself as a plant-based restaurant chain on a mission to disrupt the restaurant industry by serving plant-based food delicious enough to turn everyone vegan. The restaurant is on a mission to change the way we view vegan food by offering healthy food, kinder to the environment, with no compromise on flavor.

“Stem + Glory offers the opportunity to invest in a proven and ethical project, right at the start of an emerging market set to grow rapidly over the next 10 years. Stem + Glory founder has spent 35 years immersed in the plant-based scene, and the team have a wealth of experience in the leisure and hospitality sectors, including brands such as The Ministry of Sound and CAMYOGA. We believe there’s huge potential for Stem + Glory within the restaurant sector for accessible, high-quality vegan dining alongside fast-service lunch, brunch, vegan craft beers and fine wines.”

All funds from the crowdfunding campaign will be used to invest in a new high footfall London location, as well as develop the brand ready for a wider national rollout. The company also reported:

“We are delighted to be overfunding! A larger raise in this round means we will be able to be more ambitious in our London restaurant, and also accelerate the roll out of the brand.”

The campaign is currently set to close at the end of April.
