SEC Investor Advisory Committee Joins Full Commission in Atlanta for “Townhall” that Includes Discussion on Fintech, Breakout on Crypto

The Securities and Exchange Commission Investor Advisory Committee (IAC) is holding its next meeting in Atlanta on June 13th. The meeting will coincide with an “Investor Town Hall” coordinated by the SEC Atlanta Office.

While the IAC agenda appears to be fairly routine (see below), the Townhall includes topics of interest such as Fintech and Bitcoin / Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs).

The Townhall format is a continuation of the Small Business Capital Formation meeting that was held in Texas last fall. In the past, these meetings have been held at the SEC HQ in Washington, DC.

The entire Commission including Chair Jay Clayton, Hester Peirce, Kara Stein, Michael Piwowar and Robert Jackson, will be participating. If you happen to be in Atlanta, this may be a good opportunity to pepper the Commission with some questions regarding their philosophy behind ICOs. You may view the entire agenda below.

The Town Hall will take place on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, from 2-4 p.m., at Georgia State University, College of Law, 85 Park Place NE, Atlanta, Georgia. If being on Atlanta is not on your schedule, no worries, the SEC will be live streaming all of the proceedings at Investing in America Webcast
